I would concur with Annie though, that its better to find an alternative app (or request a fix) than install an OS just for it. But we all pretty much agree dont bother installing XP as a dual-boot. Try running your application in compatibility mode with admin rights. But to be honest, you shouldnt even need the application you are using.
